Operation Herbie – Chicago 1998

A benefit shirt from Operation Herbie, the Toronto project that grew out of one child’s lifesaving surgery at SickKids in 1979 and went on to fund treatment for children from around the world. The back dates this one precisely: the Toronto premiere performance of Chicago, February 18, 1998. The children’s drawing on the front makes the whole thing feel far more personal than ordinary theatre merchandise.
